As Co-Directors of the University of Delaware chapter of the Graduate Scientistas, my friend, Michele, and I facilitated many professional development workshops and events. These included networking coffee hours, career roundtables, and workshops on developing goals, building a professional network, and curating professional resumes. While these opportunities assisted graduate women in enhancing their career and professional growth, I wanted to do more— Thus InnovatHER was born!

In 2023 I spearheaded development of a mini, half-day conference for graduate students, mainly centered on supporting women in STEM. The InnovatHER: Inspiring Women in STEM Research Showcase is now an annual symposium at the University of Delaware, attracting over 100 attendees each year. This event provides STEM graduate women and senior undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to establish new relationships with external speakers and institutions— connecting students with inspiring female mentors from industry, including AstraZeneca, ChristianaCare,  Agilent, Incyte, and more!
